Married With Children? - Need a Will
If you are a married person in Scotland and you die without making a will (referred to as intestate) the estate is divided as follows:
- The deceased spouse will inherit the estate’s first £312,00, the deceased spouse will also inherit plenishings(furniture and other household moveable goods) of up to £24,000, in addition to a further £44,000.
- If anything remains it will go to the deceased’s child/children.
