Single? - Need a Will
If you are a single person in Scotland and you die without making a will (referred to as intestate), irrespective of whether you cohabit with your partner, everything goes to:
- If you have any - your children
- If no children - your parents
- If none of the above - your brothers, sisters, or their children
- If none of the above – your grandparents
- If no living relatives – the estate goes to the government
